About the author (1993)

Edmar Mednis is a U.S. International Grandmaster and an internationally recognized expert on both the opening and the endgame. The author of a regular column on the opening in "Chess Life" magazine, he has written more than a dozen books on chess.
Burt Hochberg is a former editor in chief of "Chess Life" magazine. He has written and edited a variety of chess books.
