Some stringing projects at the beginning but the strength of this book is in the well-illustrated beadweaving instructions and inspirational designs for both loom and off-loom stitches. Read full review
The foreword alone makes this book value for money;consider the rest a free bonus. "Uncontrolled Substances" is a frighteningly accurate clinical description of the condition and symptoms of being hooked on those little glass beads with only one ommission: the alpha wave bead-oriented dreaming state upon falling asleep or waking. The compendium of the broad range of beads and what can be done with them cannot fail to be a source of inspiration for the beader--and in not a few instances, the pictures alone could make a non-believer decide to try this out, just to see.......just once.....oops, the first time is free. If the book had been twice as thick, with three times as many photographs on much large paper--say, coffee table size---then I could have awarded it the fifth star, but as it is--more, more, I want more!
