A very dear neighbor lady give me this book when I was in grade school in the 1960s. She had invited our family over for dinner and must have sensed my anguish over my own table manners in a formal setting. She had originally bought it for her own daughter and it had been left behind when she grew up. I poured over this book and still remember much of the advice about such topics as decorating a room and sleeping in the Pullman car on a train! It is such a lovely book.
