About the author (1999)

\Dr. Joy Browne is a licensed clinical psychologist whose radio talk show is heard on more than 300 stations in the United States and Canada. She is also host of the syndicated TV show Dr. Joy Browne and writes an advice column for the New York Times Syndicate. For her contributions to the field of psychology, Dr. Joy received the 1998 American Psychological Association's President's Award. She lives in New York City.
