Faces of the WildernessHarvey Broome was one of the founding organizers of the Wilderness Society in 1935. He was man of spirit who found his renewal hiking and packing in the back country. He was firmly committed to wilderness preservation and worked year after year to advance the education process which let ultimately to creation of the National Wilderness Preservation System. The book is comprised of entries from Broome's personal journal, with minor editing. |
