In the story Forever Blume has made an intimate relationship between Katherine and Michael, sharing feelings and secrets that some people can’t even share with each other. In this book, Blume talks about first love and the first for Katherine, but Blume has written other stories with different relationships and different backgrounds. I chose this book because it seemed like a good fictional story about love and falling in love for the first time. The book is about an eighteen year old girl named Katherine. She meets a guy named Michael and they hit it off very well and eventually fall in love. Katherine and Michael share her first love with each other and the story explains how complicated it is when you give yourself away with that one person. Towards the end Katherine goes to a tennis camp with her sister, at the camp without Michael she realizes how different it is when they aren’t together. Katherine might put an end to the relationship with Michael, but she might also realize how much she loves him and wants to be with him. The message of the story is to trust yourself and feelings not just go with what your partner wants or feels. Overall, I really enjoyed the book Forever… It was a great book to put down and pick up and keep reading off and on if you’re busy like me. The story really gave me an insight on how other people might feel about sex and falling in love. Girls my age or a little older would enjoy this book because we all can relate.

What can I say about this book… firstly, it is the best growing up book I have read, and secondly Judy Blume has captured the process of growing up extremely well.
Forever is about first love
, first sex and first heartbreak, and I believe that Blume has portrayed this effectively by the way she has described what is involved in first love relationships. This book is aimed at teenage girls who will be going through the same steps of growing up, so Katherine, the main character, is leading the way and showing that everyone goes through the same thing. Blume has portrayed Katherine’s worries and feeling about the subject of sex, which will help other girls to think about what they want for the future. Throughout the book we also read about other girls and their own experiences on sex which Blume will have added so that the reader learns of what happens when you take different steps of action through sex.
However to be honest, I did think that throughout the book it kept skipping parts, for example it was talking about one day, then the next sentence it was talking about a few days later. But this could be seen as effective because Blume wanted to get across the facts of relationships, so she may have felt that skipping parts and moving straight on to the relationship parts of the story would help people keep in their minds what the story is portraying.
When it was first published there was a debate about whether it was suitable for teenage girls, because of its sexual content. However, in my opinion this book is most definitely suitable because teenage girls need to learn of risks of sex (pregnancy, STIs), and this book includes all the steps to take for when you first start having sex. If you ask yourself a question, whom do girls go to for help and advice? The answer may very well be family or doctors/family planning clinic, but some girls don’t have the confidence to speak about their worries. Therefore this book will give them all the information about sex, without having to speak out about it. It may well contain graphic scenes, but that’s the whole part about growing up and learning.

I didn't know what this book was about, but my friend told me to buy it so I did. My parents didn't know about it, but I secretly read it. I finish it from beginning to end. My brother calls it "Legs" or "Feet" because of the title picture. This book has so strong love, I admit.

It's truly amazing, and I find that I can relate to it in ways. I think it's an amazing book for the age group of; 13+ I think some young teens and younger adults could probably relate to this book... IT IS A TRULY AMAZING BOOK (:
