Charlie has started school and poor Ted is left sitting at home. It's not much fun being a teddy on your own and so, when the telephone starts to ring, Ted gets excited - maybe it's someone he can talk to. But no one can understand his gruffly growl until Brenda Bear from across the road calls.

This book is starting to look a bit dated now, with the landline telephone and its cord. Still, my daughter likes it very much as she loves to imagine her stuffed toys are alive and can speak. I like that the mother in the story is capable, putting up shelves and going to work. Read full review
