Chile has a long tradition of street art. The examples presented in this book offer insights into contemporary Chile as it emerges from its traumatic political past. The book includes a glossary of Chilean street slang as well as manifestos by leading artists. Art historian and photographer Rod Palmer has recorded examples of street art from all over the country, and in particular in Valparaiso, one of Latin America's most vibrant urban areas where street art is encouraged by the experimental space espacio g' (2005-) and the cosmopolitan MIRAQUI' initiative launched there in March 2007."

Street art- in a book. There is something a bit fucked up about that, but for me, i may never go to Chile to see this, and so i read the book and a street artist in Chile has now inspired someone on another continent of the earth. That is cool. Read full review
