About the author (2020)

Jennifer Salmassian, born in California in 1976, grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. She worked in various fields of education as she completed her BA and teaching credential in History and a MA in Education. Combining her love of education with art and poetry that was inspired from having her own children, Jennifer took a chance with an independent project and started Sally the Cat Publishing in 2006. Since then, SCP has published over 15 titles, which include her own work and those of various authors, illustrators and organizations. An imprint of SCP, Rust Mama Publishing, is her new project, as she aims to take her unique tales into the future. Today, she tours schools, reaching out to children about the importance of reading, writing and the writing process as she shares her experiences with them.
