If you are already knowledgable about and active in the animal welfare movement, there's not much in this book that will be news to you. This is, however, an excellent introduction and overview of animal welfare history and issues. A great title for high school library collections. Read full review

It is sad that this man has never taken care of an animal, yet goes around forcing others into inhumane husbandry practices. he tries to pull a rug over his readers. His organization gives
less than one percent to shelters. Don't support someone that has stated that they would be happy to see the extinction of domestic animals.
