I could not put it down. Terrifying... I could almost feel the humidity and the mosquitoes.

Great book! Writer is excellent at description...good history of Roosevelt the Man...as opposed to the President. Real story of courage, perseverance and history.

This was a really thrilling read that just happened to catch my eye. It woke in me a fascination in the so-called Golden Age of exploration. I knew next to nothing of Teddy Roosevelt- this book tells of his last great adventure, but offers incredible insight into the man and the incredible trials that explorers- even one such as him- went through.
