Martyrs of Charity, Part 1A polemical account of Polish heroism in saving Jews during the Second World War, written by a Righteous Gentile. Argues that the true answer of Polish Christians to the murder of the Jews was the help extended to them and this fact is not sufficiently recognized. Emphasizes that Christian martyrs were killed together with the Jews they tried to save. Claims that the Jews do not respond with gratitude to their benefactors. Relates information on 3,000 persons who were killed for helping Jews, contending that although most of them are not known as Righteous Gentiles they deserve this title. The "Publishers' Preface" (p. 11-78) claims that this volume is an "answer to an unprecedented anti-Christian campaign conducted world-wide under the code name of the 'holocaust'". |
