This one is pretty good. Doesn't try too hard, but appealing, interesting characters to root for and against, enough plotting to keep it moving along, a satisfying but not-too-neat resolution
- finally justifies those Elmore Leonard comparisons. Another California noir with a pedophilia thread - so common that it makes you wonder how much it's based on reality.
