Mild-mannered suburban mom Riva Konneva is more than she seems. Riva, a warrior woman from an alternate reality, has come to the planet of the pen-pushers to give her daughter the kind of education that she never had back home. I've actually read this book several times and I really love it. It's hilarious, but also deals well with some serious issues. I honestly wish she'd written some sequels, but as far as I know, this is the only one (other than the stories in the Chicks in Chainmail anthologies). Read full review
