About the author (1998)

Susan King, a Ph.D. candidate in medieval art history at the University of Maryland, took time off from her dissertation to write her first historical romance, The Black Thorne's Rose. The Sword Maiden marks her tenth novel celebrating the wonderful, magical, and sublimely romantic setting of Scotland.
