About the author (1998)

Michelle Knudsen has worked in libraries in New York City and Ithaca, New York. She is the author of the Brand New Reader FISH AND FROG, among many other books for children. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
Kevin Hawkes is the illustrator of many award-winning books for children, including WESLANDIA and SIDEWALK CIRCUS, both by Paul Fleischman, as well as HANDEL, WHO KNEW WHAT HE LIKED and ME, ALL ALONE, AT THE END OF THE WORLD, both by M. T. Anderson. He lives in Gorham, Maine.

Jane Maday has worked at Hallmark Cards as a greeting card illustrator, and has also illustrated more than 25 children's books. She licenses her artwork through Applejack Art Partners for products such as greeting cards, puzzles, collector's plates, stitchery kits, etc. She has published magazine articles in "The Decorative Painter" and "Decorative Artists Workbook" and is the author of two other North Light books, "Adorable Animals You Can Paint" and "Cute Country Animals You Can Paint".
