This book gives an overview of the current state of coronal seismology in the sun and other stars aimed for post-graduate students and researchers in astrophysical plasmas. In addition, the book provides a wealth of theoretical foundations of plasma astrophysics, magneto-hydrodynamics and coronal magnetic structures and examples of interpretation of a wide range of electro-magnetic spectrum from radio waves to gamma emission. The authors present some interesting current trends and developments in MHD seismology of solar and stellar coronal plasmas, also focusing on a recent progress in the observational study of quasi-periodic pulsations in solar and stellar flares including the fine structure of oscillating loops. This book will be a very good help for advanced students and researchers in many aspects of plasma physics, in general, and in wave processes in the physical conditions relevant to flares and coronae of the sun and other stars, in particular. I definitely would recommend this book to my students and collaborators as a rather comprehensive guide to many processes in plasma physics where the authors are established as well-known specialists.

In many aspects, this is an excellent book that covers all relevant topics of solar physics. Whilst the title mentions only Coronal Seismology, Waves and Oscillations in Stellar Coronae, actually the book also covers many important aspects beyond the traditional "Solar MHD". There are rather nice and concise chapters on particle dynamics in solar coronal loops, such as loss cones, generation of radio emission from accelerated particles as well as rigorous treatment of hard X-ray production in solar flares. Essentially, nearly all processes generating the emission across the entire electromagnetic spectrum are covered. This is in addition to a rigorous and concise treatment of MHD waves and oscillations in the context of coronal seismology. Compared to other books on the topic of solar and stellar coronae, this book is distinct in that it provides a very concise and well referenced chapters on virtually all aspects in this field. This makes the book a useful resource both for starting graduate students and well-seasoned researchers in the field, particularly as a good starting point for general reading of many topics of interest. For this reason I have recommended a purchase of several copies for our University library. For a "Western" reader this book will also provide a useful source of reference for the interesting work done in "Eastern" Europe. In summary, I found this book very useful and would thoroughly recommend it.

The book surveys theory of waves and oscillations in stellar coronae
with an emphasis on solar corona. The topic undertaken in this book
reveals a new rapidly developing branch of astrophysics, with
emphasis on aspects of coronal seismology.
The book is nicely structured with its contents covering both
introductory topic and more advanced issues associated with
magnetohydrodynamic theory of coronal loops, heating mechanisms of
coronae, and more remote objects such as neutron stars and accretion
As the book addresses both fundamental and advanced problems it is
recommended both to beginners as well as to experts in the field. I
believe that the astrophysical and physical communities would enjoy
studying this book, which I strongly recommend to purchase.
