Wow! This was an amazing book! Dicey is such a strong older sister as she cares for her 3 younger siblings. They journey far and wide searching for their aunt's house first, then their grandmothers. This sstory truely deserves 5 stars! It had me laughing, crying, smiling, and frowning the whole time! Truely magnificant!

A great book about three siblings and their struggle to find their family after their mentally unstable mother abandons them in the parking lot of a mall.

Not just a book to read in school, but on your own time. I love the way Dicey took the initiative with her bothers and sister.

Cynthia Voigt is one of the best writers ever. In Homecoming, the first novel in the cycle, Dicey Tillerman and her siblings go off to find family when their mother abandons them. When I was reading this book I noticed lots of description, and another thing. This, I realized, didn't notice the first time I read it. The second time,I noticed that Voigt's use of interrogative sentences as declarative sentences. It adds a kind of flow to the book. But one thing is, (until you've read Dicey's Song you won't know what really happens but it is still a little impossible) the way Dicey's mom just up and got lost is impossible. Sure, I know it's fiction but you can't help but wonder. Overall, though, it's a realy good, in-depth read of what it takes to be in charge and what it takes to handle disappointment.
