Book is easy to read and deep in history & background. But, unfortunately and cleverly, leaves out certain key pieces to drive modernist catholic agenda. If you want to develop the integrity of true Catholic grounding, this is not the book. The author touts expertise in contemporary and traditional theology in his bio. This is your biggest clue that sets the tone. It is disturbing that many diocese use this book as part of their permanent deaconate, continuing education and catechetical training programs.
