About the author (2004)

Jane Ray lives in London and this is her first book for Bloomsbury. Jane's previous books, including Noah's Ark, Can You Catch a Mermaid (Orchard), The Wild Swans and Romeo and Juliet (Walker) are among some of children's literature's favourite picture books. Jeanette Winterson lives in Gloucestershire. She published her first novel, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit to international acclaim in 1985. This is Jeanette's second book for Bloomsbury.
