About the author (2009)

Richard Lucas is a consultant psychiatrist at St Ann's Hospital and a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society. He is Founding Chairman of the General Psychiatry Section of the Association for Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy in the NHS. He has a particular interest in the integration of analytic concepts within general psychiatry, and he has written on manyrelated subjects, including the psychotic wavelength, puerperal psychosis, cyclical psychosis, and the life and legacy of R. D. Laing.
