I found this book to be very informative. It's well written and well organized into an easily digestible format. Parents and kids should read this if they do any level of hiking or camping.
aspects of looking after yourself in the wilderness are covered such as finding or making shelters, ideas on how to keep warm, signaling for help, handling wildlife and what to do when you realize you are lost.
In my opinion nothing is left out.
