This book is obviously very old. A lot of research has been done since it was published in 1907 and there are many incorrect statements. For example in the Chapter on the FitzHugh family, the fact that Catherine Parr's parents were mentioned as being a Lord Beauchamp and that Catherine was the granddaughter of the 5th Baron FitzHugh is incorrect. Catherine Parr's parents were Sir Thomas Parr and Maud Green. Her grandmother was the daughter of the 5th Baron, therefore making Catherine a great-granddaughter. Also, I do not think that the Fitzhugh's of England have any connection to the Fitzhugh's now in America. There is a newer book published on this and I believe DNA test have been done. This book is not good for research on genealogy.
Anyone using this book in connection with the ancestry of Mitchell Arno Blankman should contact me at my e-mail address. The information given is pure fabrication. I have the correct line and am competing a descending genealogy of one Pieter Blanckman (later Blankman) of Oude Sluis, de Zijpe, Noord Holland, ca. 1565. My database contains over 5,500 individual descendants, and I shall gladly exchange information with interested parties.
