Orbital Tumors

Front Cover
Raven Press, 1994 - Medical - 448 pages
An introductory text for orbitologists, completely rewritten to reflect major developments pertaining to orbital tumors in the 13 years since publication of the second edition. Foremost in this regard is the routine use of soft tissue imaging methods for the preoperative clinical assessment of patients with orbital tumors, and the application of immunohistochemistry, monoclonal antibodies, and molecular genetic analysis to the classification and histopathological identification of many of the orbital lesions. Likewise, adjuvant chemotherapy has enlarged the management options of selected cases, and orbitectomy, rather than orbitotomy, has evolved for some of the malignant neoplasias.
