Narrated by death himself, this story is set in Germany during World War II. Death follows a young girl Liesel that seems to fascinate him throughout her life. Due to the period this book is very dark, and can be disturbing. This young adult read would be best for 8th grade and up.

The best book in the in tire world. Leasle is an inspiring young woman. She plays the best part in the book. Especially when the young boy Rudy and Max the Jew come into play. Of ours Hans and Rosa play a very important part. Death was the apsulute perfect author for this tragic heart worming story. Thumbs up, five stars from me! :)

I found this to be a very touching book about a young orphan girl who made a home in Germany during WW II. She learned powerful lessons of love and loss. I thought the narration by death was clever and also enjoyed the stories written by Liesel and Max. Overall a very powerful story. Read full review
