Insideout: design procedures for passive environmental technologies
Using a problem-solving approach, it presents a broad view of building in the environment by investigating problems at various scales--from the context of culture and climate to the site, the building cluster, the building, the construction zone, individual components--and layering the design process from analysis to conceptual, schematic, developmental, systems integration and evaluation. Concentrates on providing a set of procedures which connect subjects covered in Mechanical and Electrical Equipment for Buildings and includes a multitude of line drawings to illustrate these processes.
