About the author (1983)

Matthew Lesko provides a much-needed bridge between the federal government and the consumer. His company, Washington Researchers, helps citizens locate government information on a wealth of subjects, such as the ratio of supply and demand for potatoes in a particular state and who, and how, to contact in government agencies to ascertain such information. Lesko has continued this consumer-aid role on the printed page, writing articles for such publications as Good Housekeeping, Industry Week, and the Washington Post. He has also written a great number of information-locating books for citizens, including Free College Money, Term Papers, and Sex (ed); The Maternity Sourcebook; IRS Secrets, Shortcuts and Savings; and Government Giveaways for Entrepreneurs. His Information USA (1983) won the American Library Association's Outstanding Reference Source award. In reaching the consumer, Matthew Lesko has also done radio call-in programs on National Public Radio and other stations. He continues to help individuals find information on numerous topics.
