About the author (2001)

Melinda Myers is a Horticultural Instructor at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Many recognize Myers as the host of "Great Lakes Gardener," a public television program that airs throughout the Great Lakes and provides region-specific advice to Midwest gardeners. She hosts the "Plant Doctor Radio Show" on WTMJ Radio, writes a bi-monthly column for The Milwaukee Journal and has been contributing editor and columnist for Birds & Blooms Magazine since 1996. Melinda is a member of numerous horticultural associations and earned the 1998 Garden Communicator's Award from the American Nursery and Landscape Association and the 1998 Quill and Trowel Award from the Garden Writer's Association of America.
