In this spellbinding counting rhyme, one witch, two cats, three owls, and other assorted creatures of the night add up to one mysterious Halloween. It's just enough to give gentle jitters to young readers counting their way from one to thirteen on their way through the haunted woods. "Deliciously chilling." "Booklist." Ages 3-up.

Review: On Halloween Night

User Review  - Tara - Goodreads

The text is rhyming but not rhythmic, or at least not in a way that I liked. It's really not that great a read. The illustrations are washed out and very brown. I didn't find them at all striking. There are too many good Halloween books to bother with this one. Read full review
