i read this book my junior year of high school and i must say although the language used is very complex, this was a great book. It really helped me out with my understanding of student teacher roles and relationships && so much more which i really loved especially considering the fact that i am going to be a teacher.! i do some social justice speaking && i refer to Freire a lot.!. ..my point? if you plan on working in a position in which you will impact the world, read this book as many times as you can take it. ..i plan on reading it again my senior yr, and plenty of times during my college yrs. ..btw i dnt think rating should be an option for this book

The importance of honest dialogue using clear terminology not only leads to understanding, but a level of freedom, justice and dignity that we shouldn't shun or fear. Read full review

User Review  - Robert McCall - Goodreads

Loved this book, especially the `praxis` of knowledge and learning that every learner needs to identify, and every educator needs to understand, before progress can be made. A brilliant mind, really supported by Colin McCahon, in the book The Man and the Teacher, another must read. Read full review
