About the author

Barbara Hannay's first story was written for the Brownies' writer's badge about a city girl whose family moves to the outback. Now, with more than forty novels behind her, Barbara's fascination with rural life is still a theme in her writing. She and her husband have left the city to live on a misty hillside in the Atherton Tablelands where they keep pigs and chooks and an untidy garden.
