Elizabeth Zimmerman is EZ to those of us who are addicted to her helpful, chatty instructional books. She has a marvelous way of taking patterns that might frighten or frustrate you and making them simple to understand and giving you the confidence to go on and on. I love all her books, but his one is perfect if you know a beginner she is interested in learning to knit more than hats or scarves.
She shows some fairly advance concepts but in a way that will make it possible to follow and go on to even more challenging skills.
She is one of the only knitters I know who was able to challenge a whole generation to take up knitting again after it had been dismissed as boring by the younger generation. She excites you and urges you on to try newer and more intricate items and before you know it you can knit almost anything, even to creating your own patterns!
