It appears that some find this book a bit too depressing. While I would agree with the sentiment, I also found it refreshing, and more aligned with the side of ourselves and our worlds we try very hard to ignore, at our peril.
I came to Scars very late on, probably because few book stores had copies of it. The cover and binding are not typical, and something only smaller press outfits are apt to produce. So for me, it was more like a good dose of the "less than happy" Kinsella stories I had been missing out on, and very much welcomed.
