Very enjoyable, assumes a bit of knowledge about the subjects it touches upon but nevertheless provides good situating of various historical events that are otherwise often taken as set pieces. Read full review

I chanced upon this very enlightening and humorous book as I was conducting research on my historical fiction writings, and I loved every page. The writing is tight and moves along readily, holding the reader's interest. It is often said that Canadian history is boring, but this proves without a doubt that it is anything but boring.
