Kornfield's book is a thought-provoking work. There are a couple of chapters in the middle of the book that are of less value, thus the rating of 4 rather than 5 stars. If you are interested in a Buddhist perspective on living in the real world, this is a good book to read. Read full review

About the author (1993)

Jack Kornfield was trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma, and India and has taught around the world since 1974. He also holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. He is a co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society and of the Spirit Rock Center. He lives in northern California.
