John W. Steiner .... a brother did marry a Swedish lady and did move back. Maybe this is what you are referring to? I tend to believe the authors, because they were librarians. I, myself, am a pacifist. I do get a fire in my soul if my family or possesions or religion is messed with. I paid for the DNA, because I want to be factual in my findings. I found this to correlate with my findings.

I am related to the authors so I find their genealogy interesting and admirable. However, my own family research leads me to believe that we arrived in colonial Maryland and Pennsylvania as Swiss nationals rather than as Germans. A Swiss origin would change the religious affiliation for Jacob and his early descendants and raise questions about their history as recorded by Lewis and Bernard Steiner. The Swiss Steiner family were Dunkers ( pacifists) and would not likely have fought in the Revolutionary War.
