Short but harrowing. I think, though, that I need to see the play to get the full effect of Gambaro's staging and scenes. Still, even from reading it, this play does a great job at exposing the really awful griminess of totalitarian government, censorship, and inaction (a la 1984.) Read full review

About the author (1992)

Marguerite Feitlowitz taught writing and literary translation at Harvard University from 1993-1999. Her many awards include two Fulbright Fellowships to Argentina and a Mary Ingram Bunting Fellowship in Nonfiction. She lives in Washington, D.C.
