Romanul este rezultatul a cinci ani de cercetare si documentare, iar actiunea se concentreaza in 12 ore, in care eroul de la Harvard, profesorul Robert Langdon, ne conduce alert si codificat in culisele tainice ale masoneriei.

I was the first one of my friends to read it and understand. That definately
sets an idea that the prose was a bit confusing rather difficult. In my case it
was quite easy and interesting. Every
word made the time and my heart race.
It also made my interest in secret societies, codes(adding by Da vinci code), and
cryptology. Dan brown really takes to the heart of reading as a hobby especially
by The Lost Symbol.

“The Lost Symbol” By William Taylor
“The Lost symbol” by Dan Brown is about his returning main character Langdon trying to understand the Freemasons and attempting to save his friend. His book is
a suspenseful mystery. This book is not like his other ones, which dealt with the Christian church; instead it’s about learning the truths behind Freemasons and their abilities. A theme of the novel is that architecture isn’t all that it appears to be, which is a talent of Mason’s. “The luminous dome of the U.S. Capital glowed with solemn power against the dark winter sky.” The description of the Capitol displays how interesting, and powerful architecture could be. The author uses great detail to illustrate to the reader the magnificent architecture, which relates to the theme.
Characters are developed very well in his novel. The antagonist, Mal'akh, is well developed with great description of how his body looks and how he fits into the story plot. “The one who called himself Mal’akh pressed the tip of the needle against his shaved head, sighing with pleasure as the sharp tool plunged in and out of his flesh.” Mal’akh getting a tattoo reveals how descriptive the author goes into his characters. The enjoyment of pain sets the reader up to believe that this character is the antagonist. The author also makes the reader think that there are hidden secrets behind famous architecture like the Capitol, which is the setting of the book. “The entire building, in fact, was a treasure trove of bizarre arcana that included a “killer bath” responsible for the pneumonic murder of vice president Henry Wilson.” The setting makes the reader believe that the story is true, even though it’s about hidden truths behind architecture, and odd phenomenon’s.
This book is similar to his other novels because it is about hidden truths, but this book is about Freemasons instead of the history of Christian churches like what he discussed in his first two novels, “The Da Vinci Code” and “Angels and Demons”. Also, the author has a reputation for discussing hidden truths behind religious ideals that are believable, but hard to prove in reality. The author finds it interesting to discuss and invent new ways to put a twist on mythical religious ideals. He’s put twists on all sorts of mythological religious ideas through his first two books, and his newest book “The Lost Symbol”.
The story is about Langdon going to the Capitol to find his friend Solomon who ends up being kidnapped, and to get Solomon back he has to learn more about Masons, and find some mythical Mason tools. The main topics of the story are hidden secrets within architecture, and masons. Masons are known for putting secret passages in their architectural designs. “A sealed basement chamber in which workers in 1930 discovered General John Alexander Logan’s long-deceased stuffed horse.” The mason talents are what makes it a good read. The book is perfect for people who enjoy suspense, and likes learning about Masons. I really enjoyed reading the “The Lost Symbol”, and i would recommend for anybody who likes a good thrilling book.

A bit too formulaic. Try something different, Mr. Brown. The last 25 pages are completely superflous to the plot. ZZZZZZ.

I liked this better than any of the other books I've read. The ending is much more believable than Angels & Demons, and the science and mystery is interesting and compelling.

The chronicles of Robert Langdon are becoming more gripping. I found myself captivated by the approach. Dan Brown is a master crime and mystery writer!
