covered our anchorage to be in a most excellent small bay, within three fourths of a mile of the nearest shore, bearing by compass south ; one point of the bay, bearing N. 56 W., the other S. 73 E. the former at the distance of 21, the latter about 3 miles. The herds of cattle and flocks of theep grazing on the surrounding hills were a fight we had long been strangers to, and VOL. III.
