A child-centred program for science education in early childhood and primary school. Eighteen units introduce children to topics such as energy and fuel, how materials change, heat and energy, light and electricity, outer space and working scientifically. Each unit extends from three to six weeks, and has a unifying theme, with a story, a problem, activities and children's questions. The authors are academics working in early childhood education and in science curriculum. The book was developed with support from the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Science and Technology.
