About the author (2001)

Shaun Carney is an Associate Editor with The Age newspaper in Melbourne. He has been a special correspondent in the United States and Great Britain, where he covered the general election in 1997 which saw Tony Blair assume power. In addition to his work at The Age, he has been the National Affairs Editor at Rolling Stone, a contributing editor (national affairs) at Juice magazine and a lecturer in the Master of Arts (Communication) program at Monash University.He is the author of a book on industrial relations, Australia in Accord (Sun Books, 1988).
