Lakeside City: The Dreaming of Joondalup
Stannage (history, U. of Western Australia) draws upon information resulting from extensive research and a large number of interviews to tell the story of people who shared a vision and conceived the means of achieving it. He reveals that although the evolution of Joondalup was not all plain sailing between those of differing backgrounds and sometimes opposing philosophies, the strong sense of ownership and the objective remained constant. The text is complemented by many color and bandw photographs, maps, and reproductions of letters. First published in 1996. Distributed by ISBS. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
