Monash's Militia Camp Lilydale: February 7th-14th, 1914
This book is a history of the 13th Infantry Brigade's 'Camp of Instruction' held at Lilydale between February 7th & February 14th, 1914 and the mock battle the Brigade held at Coldstream during this period. John Monash was the commanding officer for the camp and General Sir Ian Hamilton came out and inspected it. It was an important moment when the citizen soldier movement showed it had what was needed if the country should go to war, as it did six months later, and that it was an important moment in the career of some important military figures.
