Corinne Calvet, 1926 - 2001 Corinne Calvet was born in 1926 to the name Corinne Dibos, in France. She studied criminal law at the Sorbonne before she decided to try acting. She appeared in French radio and stage productions where she was discovered by Paramount Pictures and brought to Hollywood. Her first American film was called "Rope of Sand" with Burt Lancaster as the star. She appeared in "What Price Glory" with James Cagney and in "Sailor Beware" with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. She also appeared in "So This is Paris" with Tony Curtis and "On the Riviera" with Danny Kaye. She appeared in many more comedies and dramas in the fifties. In 1983, Calvet wrote her memoirs, entitled "Has Corinne Been a Good Girl?" In it, Calvet said that Hollywood studios never put her in roles that would tap her acting abilities. Corinne Calvet died on June 23, 2001 in Los Angeles at the age of 75.
