Parliaments in AsiaNizam U. Ahmed, Philip Norton Political scientists examine the parliaments of India, Bangladesh, Korea, Japan, China, Mongolia, and Nepal. They describe the country and legislature in general, and analyze how they work as legislatures, the impact of external and internal variables in determining their place in the political system, and other features. The working hypotheses are that external factors determine the legislature's place in the political system, and that internal factors determine its place within that category. The collection was first published in The Journal of Legislative Studies vol. 4, no. 4 (1998). Distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR |
