Carole Nelson Douglas, Douglas was an award-winning journalist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press until she moved to Texas in 1984, where she began writing fiction full time. She is the author of over thirty-five novels, which include mainstream, mystery, fantasy, science fiction and romance/women's fiction. In 1973, she found Midnight Louie in the classified ads and wrote a feature article on the real-life alley cat. She began writing novels and Louie returned as a feline super sleuth with his own newsletter, Midnight Louie's Scratching Post-Intelligencer. Her first published novel, "Amberleigh," was written while she was in college. Many Douglas novels have received awards and been on several bestsellers lists. Her mystery short fiction appear in numerous anthologies, which include The Year's 25 Best Crime and Mystery Stories in 1993, 94, 95, 96, and 98.
