Onita is an oni with a heart of gold. He does kindnesses for the humans around him, but on Setsubun when the humans throw beans to drive out the demons he is very lonely. Finally he finds a house where a poor girl is nursing her monther and doesn't have any food for herself. Onita brings her some warm food. She doesn't know he is an oni because he is wearing a hat, and when she laments not having beans to throw to keep her monther safe from the oni he quietly and sadly disappears.
