Agence internationale de l'énergie
OECD, Jan 1, 2004 - Business & Economics - 172 pages
This publication is part of a series which examines energy policy and market trends in IEA member countries. This review examines the policy challenges facing the Canadian energy sector, including getting the balance right between reducing emissions whilst maintaining energy production and exports, as well as meeting consumption growth and achieving more ambitious sectoral efficiency goals. Canada's constitution also limits the jurisdiction of the federal government on energy policy matters, compared to other federal countries in the IEA. The report makes a number of recommendations relating to general energy policy; environmental issues; energy efficiency; oil, natural gas, renewable energy, electricity and nuclear power resources; energy research and development.
