Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma

Front Cover
TAN Books, 1992 - Religion - 568 pages
"A conspectus of all dogmatic theology and quite the most remarkable work of compression of its kind that I have encountered. The book will appeal particularly to busy priests who are anxious to review quickly the teaching from Tradition, from the Bible and from reason on any particular point of doctrine. It will be specially useful to students, and it makes available for educated laymen a scientific exposition of the whole field of Catholic teaching. Finally, it will be invaluable for use as a text-book by those priests whose duty it is to present to students, in a systematic way, the teaching of the Catholic Church"--Foreword.

About the author (1992)

Dr. Ludwig Ott was born in 1906 at Neumarkt, Germany. He was later ordained a priest in 1930 after studying at the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt. He received his doctorate degree under Martin Grabmann in Munich and went on to study the development of medieval theology. Dr. Ott wrote the Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma mainly for students in a clear and concise form. With it, he wished to add to the knowledge of the Church's teaching as well as awaken possible calls to the religious life. He died in Eichstaett on October 25, 1985.
