Mary had A Sleepy Sheep

Front Cover
Xist Publishing, Sep 5, 2013 - Juvenile Nonfiction - 32 pages

“Young Mary had a little lamb.
His name was Sheppard sheep,
And everywhere that Mary went
That sheep was sure to sleep.”

This is not your average Mother Goose nursery rhyme. In this hilarious parody, poor Mary has one very sleepy, slumbering, snoozing sheep named Sheppard and Mary’s mom is not happy.

Can Mary can keep her sleepy sheep awake?

Young readers will laugh along at Mary’s zany attempts, as she tries everything from spicy-hot fiestas to water fights. The humor is fast and fun in this easy to read rhyming adventure.

Mary had A Sleepy Sheep Found this hard to read with background colors. Bold words can help you explain to the child what they mean. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Read full review

I like this book because it is related to one of my favorite nursery rhyme as a little girl. The story has an interested twist to it and includes a problem that Mary has with one of her sheep. The sheep will not stay awake. Read full review
